3 Best Blue Headlight Bulbs | Find The Best Blue Bulb

Last Updated

We love the look of blue headlights on our cars front end so we compiled this list of the best blue headlight bulbs currently available.

Having personally used and tested several blue headlight bulbs over the years, we can tell you that blue bulbs offer an awesome look, but also come with some slight drawbacks.

In our experience, the blue-er the light, the dimmer it ends up being. And if the light is brighter, it tends to lean towards a white-ish color rather than blue. To make sure you get the most style and utility, we looked for the most balanced bulbs that deliver the best of both worlds.

Fahrens bulbs are our top pick for general use, offering high brightness and a subtle blue hue that looks fantastic.

Fahren Blue LED Headlight Bulbs

Overall Best

Fahren’s LEDs are one of the brightest headlight bulbs on this list and also offer an exceptionally aesthetic look. While it isn’t the deep blue you’ll get with other options, these LEDs feature a nice blue tinged white color that allows them to maintain their high brightness

At 6500k, they have a cool white look that is substantially bluer than your average car headlight. If you want a pair of the brightest blue bulbs, this is the one to get. Not only does the cooler tint look epic, it also improves nighttime visibility. Driving at night, we appreciated how easy it was to pick out different objects, cars, signs, pedestrians, etc.

Unlike the hardcore blue headlight bulbs, the Fahrens are brighter and more suitable for everyday driving. As we mentioned, the deeper blue colored bulbs can suffer from dim light, but these LEDs manage to strike a fine balance between intense brightness and cool tone. And at 12,000 lumens, the improvement in visibility is noticeable, with the longer throw and wider road coverage making your drive safer and more relaxed.

Furthermore, we can report that these LEDs are longer lasting than other blue bulbs, which tend to be less durable and more power hungry. Efficient cooling and power consumption allow this kit to last well over 50,000 hours with sustained high performance and blue color.

Pros
  • Dramatically brighter light
  • Cool, blue tinged color
  • Longer throw
  • Wider field of view
  • Improved visibility
  • Easier to identify hurdles
  • Efficient cooling
  • Uniform beam pattern
  • Instant startup
  • Improved longevity
  • Subtle blue color
  • 6500k
  • 12,000 lumens
  • 50,000 hour lifespan
Cons
  • Doesn’t use a fan to dissipate heat
  • Rare complaints that the bulb wouldn’t properly fit and require slight modifications

Torofibi Ice Blue LED Headlight Bulbs

Best Budget

Torofibi has a great set of LEDs that offer a true blue light, albeit at the cost of brightness, if you want the blue but don’t want to spend too much of the green. Longevity is also just decent, as is to be expected at this price point.

True to their name, the Ice Blue LEDs feature a cool blue shade of light. It looks stellar on just about any car and has a unique beam pattern that adds to the look.

The beam generated by this LED is uniform and focused, eliminating dark spots. Overall, it is one of the best looking blue headlight bulbs we’ve tested and does not have even a hint of white or yellow in its beam.

One tradeoff with this LED is the brightness or lack thereof. At 7600 lumens a pair, it is not even close to what other LED kits can offer. In our testing, we were unimpressed by brightness, which did not help much, if at all with visibility. That said, it is just as bright as stock and the blue look is even better in the dark, where it stands out more.

The lifespan of this budget bulb is also nothing outstanding. Drivers who have been using it for some time report that they have had to change it after a year or so. However, the price of these LEDs is low enough that buying new ones now and again is do-able, especially to get that blue look.

Pros
  • Ultra blue look
  • Adds style
  • Uniform beam
  • No dark spots
  • Cheapest blue headlight option
  • Can be used as high/low beam, fog light, DRLs
  • Instant startup
  • Flicker free
  • Deep blue look
  • 7600 lumens
  • Budget friendly
  • Uniform beam pattern
Cons
  • Not the brightest bulb we’ve seen

Duolutong Blue LED Headlight Bulbs

Premium Choice

Duolutong’s Blue LEDs offer another great combination of brightness and blue color. They are just bright enough for daily driving while also outputting one of any headlight bulb’s most attractive blue lights.

Starting off with the color, the Duolutong LEDs have a sexy, ultra blue look. In fact, at a color temperature of 8000k, they are the deepest, most vibrant blue of any LED we’ve tested.

The look is accentuated by an instantaneous startup cycle, an evenly distributed beam, and flicker free operation, all of which combine to create an appealing and aesthetic look.

Brightness, while not as intense as the Fahrens, still comes in at a respectable 10,000 lumens. Paired with the blue color, this enhanced brightness makes for a very dramatic look and great functionality as well. We can attest to significantly better road coverage, better visibility, and clarity.

Finally, lifespan is estimated at around 30,000 hours of continuous use. However, with intensely blue LEDs such as this, you can expect slight discoloration of the beam over time.

In fact, multiple drivers have come forward saying that the blue color started fading after just a couple months of use. However, these reports are few and far between, so we chalk them up to faulty or damaged bulbs.

Pros
  • Ultra blue look
  • Improved visibility
  • Brighter than stock
  • Evenly distributed beam
  • Startup is instantaneous
  • No flickering or flashing
  • Better clarity
  • Can be used as headlights/fog lights/DRLs
  • 8000k
  • 10,000 lumens
  • 30,000 hours lifespan
Cons
  • Blue color will lighten over time
  • Not the brightest LED bulb
