I have to say, when it comes to choosing LEDs, Beamtech’s H11 LEDs are a go-to for me. They’re all about a super bright beam, an unparalleled color profile, and a unique cooling solution that ensures smooth operation.

These bulbs boast a lumen count of 12,000, which sits comfortably within the legal limit, providing an amped-up visibility for those late-night drives. The beam it casts is steady and flicker-free, not only functional but also lending your vehicle a stylish appeal. However, do keep in mind that while 12,000 lumens is mid-range for brightness, it’s a substantial step up from your run-of-the-mill halogen bulbs.

The aesthetic aspect of these bulbs isn’t just limited to their luminosity. They emit an ultra-pure white light with a color profile of 6500K. It’s impressive how these bulbs can modernize even a slightly older vehicle.

You can see from my photos below, the beam pattern that Beamtech’s bulbs produce is neat and sharp. A common problem with generic or even many ‘name brand’ kits is the excessive scatter, which can be blinding for oncoming traffic. Additionally, these can also create darker spots and inconsistencies in beam strength. In contrast, my testing of Beamtech’s LEDs showed one of the cleanest, most consistent beams of all bulbs I’ve tested.

Let me tell you, Hikari’s Thunder bulbs are a bang for your buck. Producing a luminous output of 12,000 lumens, they easily rank amongst the brightest H11 bulbs within this price range. With this level of brightness, complemented by a longer reach and a wider angle of projection, you get a larger expanse of the road lit up – always a bonus for those nocturnal drives.

For testing LED Headlight Bulbs, I employ a 2017 Toyota Camry headlight projector, while a headlight from a 2018 Ford F-150 serves for reflector testing. The reason? These vehicles are some of the most common ones you’ll see on the road. I power the lights using a benchtop power supply and locate the light’s hot spot onto a lux meter, positioned 20 feet away from my garage door.

I record the initial brightness and then again after 27 minutes to evaluate how well the bulbs handle heat. The 27-minute mark isn’t random – it’s the average commute time. My tests aren’t primarily for lux number accuracy, but for comparing them against stock halogen bulbs.

Speaking of Hikari Thunder’s performance, my projector test yielded a reading of 1188 lux, which is 463 lux higher than a standard halogen. After a 27-minute runtime, this came down to 725 lux. After a 27-minute stretch, these bulbs still managed to retain an admirable 88% of their light output, landing at 1147 Lux, and scoring 422 lux over the usual halogens. While these may not be the brightest LED bulbs on the market, their performance still deserves commendation.

From my tests, the cutoff showed up pretty well, and the full beam pattern didn’t disappoint either. However, I had some minor reservations regarding how high I needed to aim the light to get the hot spot on the Lux meter. Keep in mind, your projector housing might differ, and while it’s crucial to aim your headlights accurately, Sealight’s bulbs may require extra fine-tuning to ensure the beam reaches far enough ahead of you.

When it comes to the beam’s precision, Sealight generally performed better in a reflector compared to a projector.

If your eyesight is beginning to betray you, like mine, this extended throw will be a boon when it comes to spotting obstacles further down the road.

Even though these bulbs carry a more premium price tag, their color profile left me wanting. I had my hopes up for an ultra-pure white 6500K color temperature. The 6000K offered, while decent, wasn’t quite what I had in mind.
