GIVEDOUA 1156 LED Bulbs

Overall Brightest

GIVEDOUA’s 1156 compatible bulbs utilise modern LED chips that deliver higher brightness, enhanced visibility in rain and snow, and a significantly longer lasting design compared to stock bulbs.

Starting off with the brightness, these LEDs deliver a highly visible beam of light that looks and performs great for tail lights. After using them on our test vehicle, we can report that they are more easily visible, making the drive that much safer.

In testing, these bulbs were more noticeable from a distance than stock bulbs. We were especially impressed by the performance of these bulbs in rain and snow. Even with the visual obstruction these situations pose, drivers behind us were able to make out the bulbs clearly.

Ease of installation is another plus point. It was quick and simple and the instructions included were easy to follow. We did not notice any flashing or flickering and so we did not need to install any load resistors.

Efficiency is another part of long-term performance, and these bulbs definitely get a thumbs up. They draw less power and are specifically designed to facilitate better heat dissipation. The result is a longer lasting bulb that does not suffer from decreased performance over time.

Pros
  • Brighter than stock halogens
  • More visible in rain or snow
  • Better visibility even from farther away
  • Instructions are easy to follow
  • Quick and easy install
  • Less power is consumed
  • Long lasting design
  • No drops in performance over extended use
  • Efficient heat dissipation
Cons

Melphan-Auto 1156 LED Reverse Bulbs

Budget Brightest

Melphan-Auto’s 1156 LED bulbs feature highly visible light output, durable build, and top-notch performance for bargain bin prices.

Don’t let this bulb’s affordable price fool you; it is one of the best 1156 options money can buy and uses 54 LEDs per bulb, a copper bracket, gold wire solder, and a number of other high-quality materials. All that to say, this bulb has efficient heat diffusion, aided by a built in constant current IC driver and lower power consumption.

That being said, it does not compromise on brightness. In fact, it is over 300% brighter than the stock benchmark and offers crisp, uniform lighting. Our testing pegs it at around 300 lumens per bulb, a healthy number for such an affordable bulb.

The look of these bulbs is also worth pressing. While more expensive bulbs might get you the ultra pure white 6500k colour profile, these bulbs come with 6000k, which still looks phenomenal. Besides adding style to your car, this bulb also makes your vehicle easier to spot for other drivers in low visibility conditions.

One slight issue is that we did require a 50 watt load resistor to eliminate hyper flashing, but that was only when it was used for turn signals. Other than that, we did not experience any issues.

Pros
  • 300 lumen output
  • Brighter than stock tail lights
  • More visible
  • 6000k colour profile
  • Enhances the look of your car
  • Premium materials used throughout
  • Most affordable 1156 bulb
  • Low power consumption
  • Intelligent IC driver installed
Cons
  • 50W load resistor install required in turn signal configuration

Alopee 1156 LED Bulbs

Premium Choice

This premium 1156 LED bulb from Alopee brings brighter, more appealing, and more visible light output to the table, alongside best in class lifespan and durable construction.

If you want the brightest of the bright, Alopee offers an 1156 LED bulb with over 700 lumens of brightness. These bulbs are highly visible and noticeable even in daylight and take your lighting set up to the next level.

As with any premium LED bulb, these Alopees have a 6500k colour temperature. This is an ultra pure white colour that cuts right through rain and fog, making your car look more appealing, while also functioning really well in any application you can think of.

These bulbs come with a built-in load resistor and IC driver, an aluminium frame which enables faster, more efficient heat dissipation, and the best SMD chips money can buy. Power consumption is another pluspoint, being lower than stock while delivering higher light output.

The lifespan of this bulb leaves nothing to be desired. The efficient power consumption and heat dissipation allows these bulbs to run for well over 30,000 hours.

While the manufacturer recommends installing a load resistor to eliminate flashing, we did not experience any such problems with our bulbs. Overall, the beam was precise and uniform, and did not dim even with extended use.

Furthermore, we did not experience any distortion or interference with the car’s radio or stereo.

Pros
  • Brightest and most powerful light in this category
  • 700 lumen light output
  • Durable construction that uses aluminium
  • More easily noticeable than stock bulbs
  • 6500k colour profile
  • Visually appealing design
