SYLVANIA 9005 SilverStar Ultra Halogen Bulb

Overall Best

Sylvania’s 9005 compatible headlight bulb has a more intense beam than stock, a cooler white color temperature, and more expansive road coverage. We saw a huge uptick in nighttime visibility and clarity, along with an improved look for the car’s front end.

Over the course of testing this bulb, we found ourselves in a number of different settings, ranging from city centres with plenty of overhead illumination to lonely country roads with fewer lights. The SilverStar performed well in all cases, thanks to their more powerful light output, which we measured at around 10% brighter than stock and wider road coverage.

At 3460k, the color temperature of these headlights is a noticeable improvement over stock. In fact, it is 18% cooler than the benchmark, allowing it to offer more clarity and reflectiveness.

These headlights have a unique silver coating on the bulb cap that makes the bulb appear invisible against its surroundings. Far from a gimmick, this feature allows the headlight assembly to reflect even more light, while also giving you a uniform look on the front of your car.

As for durability, Sylvania uses longer lasting materials and high tech manufacturing processes to extend the lifespan of these bulbs well beyond what stock bulbs offer. Drivers who have had these bulbs installed long term report being highly satisfied by their performance.
