Fahren H4 Cool White LED Headlight Bulbs For Toyota Tacoma (1999-2015)

Overall Best

Fahren’s Cool White LED headlight bulb for the Toyota Tacoma beats not only stock bulbs, but also most other aftermarket options when it comes to brightness. The beam itself is uniform and well-calibrated, and the ‘cool white’ in the name is well-earned.

It is easy to see why we like these Fahren bulbs for the Tacoma so much. They are easily some of the brightest we’ve ever tested, coming in at a blistering 22,000 lumens.

The benefit here is better downroad visibility, and a safer nighttime driving experience. The wider angle of projection also allowed us to keep an eye on the roadside for any unexpected pedestrians, stray animals, as well as cars merging from the far end of the road.

Visibility is further enhanced thanks to the uniform beam pattern. We didn’t have to deal with any dark spots in our line of sight, and the beam provides superior focusing that brings out every pothole and bump in the road.

The moniker ‘cool white’ isn’t just for show, either. This LED headlight bulb for the Toyota Tacoma sports a color temperature of 6500K that makes it a lot easier to notice obstacles and road signs.

Not to mention, the ultra-pure white color of these LEDs adds to the look of your Toyota Tacoma and makes it look that much nicer. It has that cool white look that brings even older Tacoma models into the modern age.

All of that performance does mean you’ll have to put up with higher power consumption compared to stock bulbs. But keeping in mind just how well these bulbs perform, we think the tradeoff is more than worth it.

Speaking of, the high output of these bulbs produces heat. Keeping that heat in check is a 12,000 RPM turbo fan and hollow heat sink combo. We never noticed any hiccups due to overheating, so these work pretty well.

That efficient cooling design also means that these bulbs last significantly longer than their competition. In fact, they can last up to 50,000 hours, and the IP68 rating ensures no harm comes to them during that time.

Please note that Fahren’s LED headlight bulbs for the Toyota Tacoma are only compatible with 1999-2015 Tacoma models.

Torchbeam H11 LED Headlight Bulbs For Toyota Tacoma (2016-2022)

Best For Toyota Tacoma 2016-2022

Torchbeam outdid themselves with these LED headlight bulbs for the Toyota Tacoma. This kit features bright light output, a cooler color temperature, and a longer lasting design that outlives and outperforms stock bulbs.

Torchbeam employed the latest LED chips to make these headlight bulbs. These are brighter, more efficient, and longer lasting than most other options we’ve seen. They’re rated for 16,000 lumens, which is a dramatic upgrade over stock.

The field of view is a bit wider than stock, expanding your peripheral vision and making it safer to drive at night. The longer throw also means you can react faster to sudden changes in road conditions further away.

The beam pattern exhibits really impressive focus that not only looks but also performs better. It is again rated for 6500K, and we find that the cooler white look really makes the 2016-2022 Toyota Tacoma front end pop!

These bulbs use a unique ‘shark fin’ cooling fan that offers better heat management. Even under more demanding conditions, the heat levels of this LED bulb stayed normal.

But those low heat levels might also be thanks to the fact that this is one of the most power-efficient LED headlight bulbs for the Toyota Tacoma.

We noticed that this bulb uses significantly less power compared to others in its class. It has built-in drivers that intelligently regulate power so that there are no potentially damaging fluctuations.

It comes as no surprise then, that this efficient LED headlight bulb is rated to last up to 50,000 hours. That’s in line with other high-end LED headlight bulbs for the Toyota Tacoma, and far superior to any stock bulb.

It’s not without its flaws though. We noticed that on some Toyota Tacoma test vehicles, these bulbs needed to be paired with additional decoders in order to eliminate radio interference. That does mar an otherwise great experience, but we’re willing to put up with it.

Finally, we liked how easy these bulbs are to install. The non-polarity design is to thank for this, and we loved the convenience of not having to fiddle around with any tools to get the installation done quickly.

Please note that this LED headlight bulb is only compatible with 2016-2022 Toyota Tacoma models.

Pros
  • 4x brighter than stock
  • 16,000 lumens
  • 6500k color temperature
  • Shark fin cooling fan

  • Cooler white color

  • Wider projection
  • Uniform beam

Mumasha H4 LED Headlight Bulbs for Toyota Tacoma (1999-2015)

Best Budget

And finally, we have the Mumasha LED headlight bulbs for the Toyota Tacoma. It may not be as bright as our other picks, but it’s still plenty for most use cases. Add to that the improved lifespan over stock, and the budget-friendly price tag, and you’ve got one hell of a LED bulb.

This LED headlight bulb for the Toyota Tacoma can ‘only’ generate about 8000 lumens. That is a good two or three times brighter than most stock halogens, especially on older Tacoma models, but still lags behind the others on this list.

Despite the budget-friendly price tag, you get quick startup and a flicker-free look that goes a long way towards making your truck look cooler. We were worried the budget price might mean that this bulb would have  a blurry, unfocused beam, but it proved us wrong.

And the 6500K color profile is a rarity at this price point. It really clears up your vision for nighttime driving, and adds a unique look to your vehicle without breaking the bank.

Practically, the cool color profile also makes it a lot easier to spot bumps and potholes in the road, traffic signs, stray animals, pedestrians, and anything else that is at risk of getting run over if you don’t spot it in time!

The entire housing is made of aluminum, which is great for heat dissipation, and also makes the whole package pretty lightweight and durable. Not that the 10,000 RPM cooling fan needs a lot of help to keep this LED headlight bulb cool under pressure.

Speaking of durability, this budget LED headlight bulb for the Toyota Tacoma comes with an IP68 water resistance rating, so the claimed 50,000 hour lifespan becomes that much more believable.

The IP68 rating also means this bulb can be a great budget alternative, even if you like to take your Tacoma off the beaten path and into the elements.

And finally, the lower performance has the benefit of requiring a lot less power. In fact, when it comes to efficiency, this LED headlight bulb for Toyota Tacomas pretty much leads the pack.

Please note that this LED headlight bulb is only compatible with 1999-2015 Toyota Tacoma models.
