Philips 9007 X-tremeVision Halogen Headlight Bulbs

Overall Best

Philips X-tremeVision features a cooler white tone that is more visible and aesthetically pleasing. It is a fairly bright bulb that offers more clarity than stock, and also lasts longer.

Brightness experiences a noticeable boost. We registered a 12% increase in overall light output and intensity with these bulbs. In reality, the difference seems even more pronounced, adding clarity and visibility for nighttime driving. The added comfort and safety is appreciated.

The 3400k color temperature of this bulb is cooler than the stock alternative, making it stand out from the crowd and aid everyday driving. Our tests showed a 10% increase in whiteness, which not only helps in distinguishing between different elements and objects on the road, but also adds a bit of style to the otherwise boring front end of our car.

Beam pattern is uniform and DOT approved, meaning it will not dazzle oncoming traffic. It helps not only reduce the appearance of dark spots, but also allows for flicker free operation. The startup of these headlights is instantaneous and we did not encounter any interference with the radio or stereo systems.

There is little to be said about installation, which was quick and easy to do, with minimal experience required.

Finally, another feature we absolutely love with these halogens is their efficient power consumption. In fact, they draw less power than even the stock bulbs, which enables them to deliver significantly better longevity, as evidenced by the abundance of positive driver reviews.

Philips 9007 Standard Halogen Headlight Bulbs

Best Budget

Philips 9007 standard replacement bulb is plenty bright, offering noticeably better visibility and clarity. It also outperforms the stock alternative in terms of durability and lifespan.

While they may not feature the largest lumen count on this list, the Philips Standard bulbs are still a high quality option that deserves your attention. Compared with stock, these bulbs offer a more vibrant beam of light that is supported by longer throw and wider projection, resulting in more expansive road coverage.

The beam these bulbs generate is focused and uniform. It eliminates pesky dark spots and adds clarity to your sightline. Philips are known for the crispness of their beam and we can attest to a well calibrated beam pattern that does not exhibit any flickering or blurriness. As a result, driver reaction time improves, facilitating a safer drive.

If you prefer the warmer tone of your current halogen setup and would like to preserve it, these bulbs have a 3000k color temperature that does just that. As an added benefit, these headlights will not require any more power than your stock setup, ensuring an efficient setup.

Low power consumption, efficient cooling, and a durable build all combine to provide a longer lasting bulb. Our testing was only done short term, but other drives have come forward with their long term experience, reporting sustained high performance, even months after installation. We will be sure to update this article, should we run into any issues worth mentioning.
