Depending on the make and model of your vehicle, 9007 bulbs can be used as headlights or fog lights.

Your standard factory-installed halogens do an ok job, but I prefer something a lot better.

I always suggest upgrading to LEDs, because they’re brighter and will last longer.

How do you know which 9007 LED bulbs are the best? Well, that’s why I’m here. I’ve been testing headlight bulbs for over ten years and have sorted the good from the bad.

I tested a stack of 9007 bulbs and came up with the top 3.

Overall Best

Hands down, my favorite 9007 LED bulbs are the Novsight N60s. They’re bright, reliable, and last for a long time. 

Brightness and Color Temperature

At 20,000 lumens per bulb, these bulbs are super bright. Novsight claims they’re 900% brighter than standard halogens. My tests didn’t confirm them to be that high, but very impressive regardless.

The 6,500 Kelvin color cool white is a huge step up from the soft white of factory halogens. Cool white makes for more clarity, which allows me to see objects more clearly.

Neat Features

What I love about Novsight is that you get a cool keychain with every bulb.

Design

Novsight’s 9007 LEDs have nice design touches and are manufactured at a high level of quality. Overall the unit felt very solid.

They come with an adjustable collar, a fan for heat management, and an external driver that feels good and well machined.. Overall the entire unit feels well-constructed and robust. 

One aspect I love is that Novsight uses a double copper heat pipe, which is essential for the  20,000 lumens per bulb. Otherwise they wouldn’t last very long.

The bulbs also came with a turbo fan, but surprisingly were still very quiet whilst I was driving.

They’re designed to have a perfect beam pattern and a superior viewing distance without any dark spots. 

Novlight claims these bulbs will last 100,000 hours. Yet most of the competition claim 50,000, but I’m yet to see bulbs that go for more than 30,000. My tests confirmed that 100,000 isn’t likely.

With an IP68 waterproof rating, take them out in rain, snow, sand, or fog and feel confident.

Novsight offers a 16-month warranty, so I expect them to last at least that long. However, for a premium bulb I was expecting two or three years. 16 months isn’t great for a bulb at this price range.

The size of the N60 is about 1.6 inches from the back side of the collar to the trailing edge of the fan, and the fan diameter itself is about 1.4 inches. I measured these myself, so make sure they fit your vehicle before buying.

Installation

The Novsight N60 LED bulbs come with an external driver, which is slightly bulkier than others on the market, so it won’t fit all vehicles. Ensure you click the Amazon Confirmed Fit button at the top of the product page to check your make and model match. 

For those it does fit; it’s plug-and-play, and I had no issues.

My Tests

I put all my bulbs through a projector test at a 20 ft distance. I compared the N60s against the factory halogens, which have a lux rating of 725.

The Novsight N60s gave me an initial lux rating of 2780. That’s almost 400% over halogens.

After 27 minutes — the average US commute time — it kept 76% of that light. A little lower than the 80% average, but decent.

The reflector output was impressive, with an initial luminance of 5420 lux, five times as bright as halogens at 910 lux. Even after 27 minutes, the N60s still produced 4119 lux. Super bright!

The bulbs have a published rating of 100 watts per light, but my actual observation is quite different. The stood only at 66.2 watts ea, 33.8 less than published.

After running the bulbs for about 27 minutes, I observed the central unit had a temperature of 231F, and the driver had 153F. These readings are a little higher than others on the market, so I do question the 100,000-hour claim.

The actual beam looked good, the cutoff is clean however it’s got a bit of a weak spot in the lower area of the beam. But overall the output was excellent and super bright. 

What Other Drivers Are Saying

On Amazon the Novsight N60s are rated 4.⅗ stars.

Comments like ‘the brightest I’ve ever seen’ confirm my tests. Some drivers experienced some challenges installing them as the external driver is quite bulky and large. 

Summing It Up

The Novsight 9007 LED bulbs are well constructed, are some of the brightest 9007 bulbs I’ve tested, and perform extremely well. It’s also one of the brightest bulbs I’ve tested using a projector output, even if there’s a lower weak spot on the lower middle of the beam. 

And one plus point is Novsight’s excellent customer service, they always are replying to customer comments.

I liked that you can Choose from three Kelvin colors — 3,000 Amber, 6,500 xenon white, or 10,000 cool blue. I’m a massive fan of the white, but the blue will make your car stand out in the crowd.

Design

The bulbs are 25 watts and are housed in an aircraft-grade aluminum case. The sturdy design allows for maximum heat dissipation.

I also really liked that these bulbs didn’t make the slightest noise while I was driving. Because they didn’t come with a fan or any mechanical moving parts.  

The absence of a fan is both good and bad at the same time. While It frees you from worrying about any moving parts that could break overtime, it certainly leaves a question mark on the bulb’s overall lifespan and heat management.

CG Automotive claims 30,000 hours of life; But I’m skeptical due to the absence of a cooling system.

Installation

These 9007 LEDs are sleeker, with a plug-and-play installation for minimum fuss. They’re CAN-bus and DRL error-free, so you won’t need a decoder. Overall they were super easy to install.

My Tests

I set my projector test at a 20 ft distance. The factory halogens gave their usual lux rating of 725.

Initially, the CG Automotive 9007 LEDs gave me a lux rating of 2565, well over 300% compared to the halogens. That’s nice and bright.

I wasn’t surprised that after 27 minutes, it dropped to 77% of that light, so 1975 lux. I suspect this is because there’s no cooling fan. A feature I prefer in most headlight bulbs.

One thing that did bother me is that these bulbs produced quite a bit of glare, which could bother oncoming drivers. Be sure to set your beams to a position that doesn’t blind oncoming drivers.

What Other Drivers Are Saying

The overall rating of the CG Automotive 9007 LED bulbs is 3.5/5 stars. Most customers liked the sleek look and the sheer brightness of these 9007 LEDs.

It’s imperative to check that these bulbs fit your make and model. Lots of drivers complained that they did not fit, or weren’t compatible. I suspect there were so many of these comments that the overall rating dropped.

Summing It Up

If you want your car to look premium, get more than 300% more brightness than halogens, and have a choice of Kelvin colors, the CG Automotive 9007 LEDs are the right choice.

Design

The Auxito 9007 contains double-sided ZES LED chips for faster turn on. And they’re made of an aluminum alloy shell to improve heat dissipation.

The noiseless built-in fan keeps the temperature down, increasing the longevity of the bulbs, which I don’t see wouldn’t last the advertised 30,000 hours.

Although Auxito claims these bulbs have a perfect beam pattern, my tests showed a few dark spots.

They’ve 9007 bulbs that have an IP65 rating. That means they’re water resistant, not waterproof, so keep that in mind if you plan on taking long drives in heavy rain.

Installation 

The installation is simple; it’s plug-and-play. However, the part that goes into the housing is a little heftier due to the fan location.

Some models may experience a CAN bus dashboard error, so I recommend installing a decoder in these vehicles.

My Tests

Once again, I set up my projector test 20 ft away. I always compare them against the factory halogens, which have a lux rating of 725.

The Auxito 9007 LEDs gave me an initial lux rating of 2097. That’s not quite 300% brighter than the halogens, but pretty close.

After 27 minutes, it kept 82% of that light. This result is better than the 80% average and could do with the internal fan keeping things cooler.

Speaking of the internal fan, it produced no sound, which is excellent as it bothers many drivers using other brands.

The only downside is that I did find some hotspots on the lower left side. Sometimes, reflector housing doesn’t go great with the beam pattern, so I imagine that might have been the reason.

What Other Drivers Are Saying

Auxito is a hugely popular brand; almost 10,000 drivers rated the 9007 LEDs, with 76% giving them 5/5 stars.

Drivers love that the money they paid provided much brighter and more reliable lights than the original halogens.
