Nilight’s D3S HIDs generate a bright and powerful beam of light that is more visible at night. It makes spotting obstacles in the road easier, facilitating a safer drive.
Our testing showed a massive boost in brightness over stock bulbs with these HIDs installed. They are more powerful than stock so their throw is longer, stretching further down the road. Angle of projection on these bulbs is also noticeably wider, bringing more of the roadside into view and improving peripheral visibility.
While over 150% brighter than stock, they are not harsh or distracting for oncoming traffic. The uniform pattern makes for a solid, unbroken beam that is free of dark spots. Nilight’s D3S offering features an impressive 6000k color temperature. Alongside the upgraded brightness, this cooler white color tone makes picking out objects in your path a lot easier. Overall, this intense beam is focused and adds clarity, perfect for use on less well-lit roads.
In the past, we have rated the quality of Nilight’s bulbs quite highly and the same is true for this bulb. Lifespan, at 3000 hours, is significantly higher than other options. Moreover, they draw less power from your car’s battery, making them more efficient.
Overall, these are a solid upgrade in terms of brightness, color profile, and longevity.

This HID from Carrep is another brilliantly bright D3S option. It upgrades your headlights with a powerful beam and is cooler white making for a stylish addition that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
At 7600 lumens a pair, this HID kit is more powerful and brighter than your stock bulbs. While not as dramatic a difference as with the Nilights, these bulbs boost visibility quite a bit. We found the throw and overall road coverage to be significantly better than stock. The beam goes further and wider, bringing both downroad and roadside into view.
Beam pattern and clarity are also top notch. Carrep’s bulbs are focused and help you make out potential hazards on the road more quickly. In fact, our testing showed an appreciable decrease in driver reaction time while driving with these bulbs installed, thanks in part to the impressive brightness, and in part due to the increased whiteness.
Speaking of whiteness, these bulbs sport a 6000k crystal white color that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also benefits the driver by being more reflective off of all surfaces. Furthermore, the beam is uniform and eliminates dark spots.
Finally, these bulbs impressed us with their low power consumption, and better longevity.

Osram’s Xenarc is a dazzlingly bright bulb that features a high quality build, a classic color profile and a longer lifespan.
Brightness for the Osrams is a crisp 6800 lumens/pair as per our testing. That is substantially brighter than stock bulbs and also one of the brightest HIDs around. We found this improved brightness to be quite effective at improving visibility. Longer, more powerful throw, and a wider field of vision are to be expected from such a premium bulb, and definitely help with expanding your sightlines.
One drawback of the Osrams is their color temperature. At 4300k, it is warmer than even less expensive options on this list. However, it is still a standard white color that is cooler than stock bulbs and makes a huge difference in visibility. Osram’s unique design allows them to offer even distribution of light that helps combat any darker areas in your field of vision.
One area where the Osrams have the competition beat is in efficiency. Although they produce an intensely bright light, they do not consume insane amounts of power. Not only does this safeguard the components, it also enables the piece de resistance of Osram’s HIDs: their lifespan, which is higher than any other HID we have tested.
